Our team member, @Rani Fouladoux, had the pleasure of attending this morning, an insightful presentation and panel discussion on the impact of AI in the workforce, with a particular focus on recruitment and LinkedIn’s emerging AI features (“Empower with AI” at Microsoft’s Brisbane office.)
A key takeaway: AI isn’t about replacing people; it’s about elevating them. As automation increases, soft skills are becoming more valuable than ever. Emotional intelligence, communication, collaboration, and relationship-building are areas where humans will continue to lead, and where AI simply can’t replace the human touch.
In recruitment especially, this shift means recruiters are evolving from candidate “searchers” into trusted consultants and advisors. The focus is moving toward deeper partnerships with clients rather than spending hours on manual screening and admin tasks.
Many businesses are already saving up to 20% of work time (or roughly 8 hours per week) by adopting AI. The real question is: how do we reinvest that time? In recruitment such as is our industry, that could mean more Business Development (BD), deeper client engagement, and more proactive networking. Not all recruiters have the skills or confidence to move into BD, and this will likely become a key differentiator in the industry.
At PPS Consulting, we prioritise hiring Consultants who bring strong networking and BD capabilities, ensuring our clients benefit from advisors who drive both talent and business growth.
